Learning from our past

I came across this today in the notes section of my phone and it is something that I wrote a few months back, it got me thinking…

“We shouldn’t want to change what happened to us in the past because it wouldn’t have lead us to this moment, here, stronger and with a deeper understanding of our thoughts and emotions. Your past shouldn’t bring you down, it should shape you into a new and better person, someone that you want to be, someone with qualities that you look for in a person. Everyone will go through challenging times in their life where they feel bad about themselves and in those situations, we have to tell ourselves that we are stronger than this, and that we know we are worthy of something better. there is no better time than the present and you should be the one to decide how you want to live it!”

It is still so true, there really is no time like the present to choose to make a change in something or to tell yourself “I am beautiful or I am worthy”

Try not to worry too much what others think because it really doesn’t matter! Once again I will quote the amazing poem “What will matter” by Michael Josephson

“What will matter is not what you learned
but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity,
compassion, courage, or sacrifice
that enriched, empowered or encouraged others
to emulate your example.”

Choose today to take your past and use it to how you shape your future, don’t dwell on it, learn from it!
